This recipe comes from the Turkish region of Karaman. A perfect recipe for a cold night.

Ingredients
- 1 cup of chickpeas (soaked in water overnight)
- 3 cups of water
- 1 1/2 tbsp tomato puree
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 500g mince beef
- 2 tbsp parsley
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp flour
- 1 onion
- 1 tsp cumin
- 2 tbsp butter
Method
- Make the meatballs by putting the mince beef in to a bowl and adding the parsley, salt, pepper, egg and flour. Mix all together. Make into meatballs and put into the fridge until ready to use
- In a saucepan put 2 tbsp of butter then add the onions and fry for 5 minutes. Add the chickpeas and then the tomato puree. Add the cumin and 1 tbsp salt and 1 tsp pepper. Add the 3 cups of water and bring to the boil.
- Once you have brought the chickpeas to the boil, add in the meatballs. Give a stir, then put the lid on the saucepan and then let cook until the chickpeas and meatballs are cooked.
- Serve with rice, salad and yogurt.
